What is a referral?
A vet’s referral takes place after your primary care vet decides they cannot provide the level of expertise or specialist facilities required to treat your pet. They will recommend that your pet is referred to a consultant vet at a referral centre.
Clinicians at referral centres are leaders in their field, with extensive experience and advanced training in their particular discipline, along with access to facilities and specialist equipment not usually available in general practice, ensuring your pet receives the best possible care and attention.
