Medical Internship

Medical internship available at Paragon Veterinary Referrals, Paragon Business Village, Wakefield.

Paragon Referrals offers an extensive range of multi-disciplinary clinical services, facilities and equipment to first opinion vets in Yorkshire, the North of England and beyond.  It is home to a team of dedicated veterinary surgeons and highly skilled veterinary nurses who provide outstanding treatment and care for patients and a high standard of service to owners and referring vets. 

Facilities available include MRI, CT, C-RM, Mobile DaRt, 8 consulting room and 5 theatres.  Services offered include,

Anaesthesia

Neurology

Cardiology

Oncology

Dermatology

Ophthalmology

Diagnostic imaging

Orthopaedics

Internal medicine

Soft tissue

 

This is an ideal role for individuals who are positive, proactive and keen to apply and develop their skills to the highest of standards, whilst working in a challenging and rewarding environment.  Ideal as start to a journey towards a career within internal medicine.

The role will include working with our team of 4 internal medics, oncologist and ECC specialist in the centre and have a structured educational programme with journal clubs, case presentation, mentoring and support.  The rota averages at 40 hours per week and includes night and weekend work with time off in lieu.

Requirements to apply

·       MRCVS with a minimum of 18 months post graduate experience in practice

·       Experience of sole charge and emergency work

·       Excellent communication skills, C1 English CERF or equivalent

Desirable

·       1 year working within the UK

·       Previous rotating internship
